US says considers sanctions against Putin’s inner circle

WASHINGTON, Feb 17 (PRIME) -- The U.S. is considering a number of sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin’s inner circle, spokeswoman for the White House Jen Psaki said at a briefing late on Wednesday.

“There are a range of sanctions under consideration on his (Putin’s) inner circle,” Psaki said, when asked whether the U.S. could impose sanctions on the Russian president’s close friends and colleagues to support Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny in his fraud trial.
